Responsibilities
The Mayor represents the local administrative unit in its relations with other public authorities, individuals and legal entities, as well as before the courts. Under Articles 154–155 of Government Emergency Ordinance No. 57/2019, the Mayor ensures respect for citizens’ fundamental rights and freedoms and the implementation of laws and Local Council decisions, acts as the principal authorising officer for public expenditure, and is responsible for the inventory of assets belonging to the town’s public and private domains.
Each year, the Mayor presents the Local Council with a report on the economic, social and environmental state of the town, which is published on this website.
